Kandi Burruss spent 14 seasons on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. She’s hoping that experience will be useful to her adult daughter Riley Burruss, as she launches her own reality TV career.
Though there’s been no formal announcement, rumors are swirling that Riley may be a part of the new Bravo series Making it in Manhattan. If true, Kandi is ready to offer helpful hints on documenting her life for reality television.
“If I were to [give] my daughter any advice, it would be to always tell the truth. Keep it 100, and just own who you are no matter what,” the Xscape artist said. “Never allow anybody to roll the tape back on you, because that is always … when you catch people in lies.”
Kandi’s daughter Riley Burruss could join some other Bravolebrity kids on Making it in Manhattan
In May, Bravo announced a brand new series, Making it in Manhattan. According to Bravo’s press release, the show follows a group of friends as they “navigate the trials and triumphs of young adulthood.” Some of the cast members come from well-known TV families, while others are new to the Big Apple. Fans have already sighted Riley filming alongside her childhood friend Ariana Biermann (Kim Zolciak’s daughter), as well as Brooks Marks (Meredith Marks’ son).
While not admitting Riley has a new gig, Kandi assured Us Weekly that she would always support her daughter no matter what. Riley recently graduated from NYU with a degree in music business, making her mom proud by following in her footsteps.
“At the end of the day, there’s nothing that she really can’t come back from,” the Grammy winner said. “Because I’m always going to be here. I always got her back no matter what.”
“It’s not really for me to say to somebody not to do it,” Kandi added, regarding her daughter’s possible reality TV future. “It is more so for me to just support, give my best advice, and let people make their own decisions. And then my daughter Riley is a Leo, OK? She’s going to do what she wants. Let’s just know that.”
