John Janssen clapped back at ex Shannon Beador’s attempt to dismiss his fraud claims. Amid his lawsuit, he’s now asking for punitive damages and lawyer fees. Shannon’s camp responded, alleging he failed to show actual evidence that she committed any fraud.
Earlier in 2024, John sued Shannon alleging she failed to pay him back for two loans, $75,000 in total, for a facelift. He claimed she committed promissory fraud and breach of contract. Shannon, however, says the money was a gift. Following their breakup, John started seeing Shannon’s Real Housewives of Orange County co-star Alexis Bellino.
Per court docs via In Touch, John reacted to Shannon’s attempts to get his ‘promissory fraud’ claim dismissed. He now wants Shannon to pay his lawyer fees – and punitive damages.
The outlet reported that Shannon also clapped back. She claimed John failed to give any evidence that she defrauded him – and he wants the court to dismiss his request to have punitive damages.
Her lawyer stated, “[John] has not alleged sufficient facts to state a fraud cause of action, and therefore has not alleged sufficient frauds for punitive damages … [John’s] allegations of fraud do not include facts that support a claim that [Shannon] did not intend to perform at the time she entered into the alleged contract for the loan.”
Shannon hasn’t yet responded to the rest of the lawsuit.
One source told the outlet, “John’s attorneys are very confident with the evidence supporting their filings.”
According to earlier documents, Shannon said she attempted to resolve the issues with her ex before he sued her.
“My attorney has been in constant communication with his counsel. I agreed to pay John what he wanted because I knew that attorney’s fees would surpass the amount sought, but more importantly to eliminate the negative emotional components that come with a lawsuit,” said Shannon. “It is important that I continue to focus on the positive aspects of my life and move forward.”
“John declined the offer because he refused to sign a mutual non-disparagement agreement,” she went on. “I was hoping that if I met his baseless demand we could at least use this as an opportunity to bring complete closure to this chapter in my life.”
