After years of turmoil, Joe Gorga opened up during The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 14 finale about his feelings toward his big sister, Teresa Giudice.
The declaration happened while he was chatting with his wife, Melissa Gorga.
“Listen, I’m concerned. I’m always concerned about her. She’s my sister,” he said. “But my sister’s old-school Italian. She really wouldn’t admit [things were bad] if it were true. If it was really true — the kids were a mess — she would never say it.”
Melissa Gorga shares her hopes for Teresa Giudice
Melissa started off the conversation by telling her husband she’d heard some of the other ‘Wives gossiping about Teresa.
“I kind of got annoyed, like not at Danielle [Cabral], but she starts talking about your sister. She said she looks terrible, the house is very stressed, the children seems very stressed,” explained Melissa. “I really don’t want them to suffer.”
Later in the conversation, Melissa asked Joe if he’s “happy right now” given all the drama.
“I don’t like turmoil. I want to love everybody — if I see someone up the street and I just met them I want to love them. Here’s my own sister. It was tough, it was hard for me [to set boundaries],” he explained. But, after the past year he knows why they’re in place.
“Well then that’s all I need to know. I’m not willing to break the boundaries I’ve put in place. And that’s it,” adds Melissa. “If you want me to handle this any other way, speak now or forever hold your peace.”
The couple shared a similar sentiment during Melissa’s recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on July 28.
Where do Melissa Gorga and Teresa Giudice stand today?
Melissa, more specifically, said on WWHL that she does not see any future in which she’ll have a relationship with Teresa. She also noted that her favorite part about Season 14 has been “how free” she feels.
“I don’t feel the pressure any more to kinda accept things I didn’t feel were right, or to keep moving forward with something that was at a complete dead end,” she explained. “Having zero guilt any longer and knowing I’ve done the right thing for as long as I could is definitely my rose.”
