Jessel Taank’s sex life has come up in numerous conversations on The Real Housewives of New York City.
Not many people would want their dirty laundry aired quite so publicly for millions of people, but Jessel Taank says her husband, Pavit Randhawa, is nothing but supportive of what’s been said about the couple’s sex life — or lack thereof — on The Real Housewives of New York City.
“I think it’s very easy for people to turn the narrative and be like, ‘Oh my God, like he’s X, Y and Z,” Jessel told US Weekly in a recent interview. “But no one wants to see the positives. Why can’t you celebrate a man for standing by his family and standing by his wife in those moments? And that’s exactly what happened.”
Jessel also shared a big update on her sex life with US Weekly: She and Pavit are back in the bedroom.
“I think it definitely took us a little time to bounce back and really balance our time as a married couple, then our time as a family,” Jessel said to US Weekly. “And so, it’s a fine line, right? You always want to be there for your kids, but I think we realize it was also important to prioritize us.”
After Jessel first admitted to the other Housewives that she and Pavit hadn’t been intimate since the birth of their twin boys, 2-year-olds Kai and Rio, she received a lot of reaction from the ‘Wives—some of it not so kind.
Jessel said she was “surprised” at the reactions and told Bravo’s The Daily Dish in an interview that it “almost put her back in [her] shell.”
“I appreciate that they don’t know what I went through, and if you haven’t gone through that, it’s very hard to kind of put yourself in my shoes,” Jessel told The Daily Dish.
Brynn Whitfield agreed the Housewives were too harsh with their reactions to Jessel’s sex life.
“I think give it some time,” she said on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen. “And I don’t think the best advice is just, ‘Go home and f—k your husband.”
Jessel and Pavit used in vitro fertilization to conceive their twins — something Jessel has admitted was a very difficult process.
“I think a lot of people ignore that — what we went through,” Jessel told The Daily Dish. “It wasn’t just me by myself. It also affects the guy in the relationship. He saw everything I was going through. He was literally with me every step of the way. He was my rock during the whole thing. He went through a lot too.”
Jessel told US Weekly the sex drought with her husband was “just the reality of the situation.”
“It was just this, like, wave of just…you’ve had a baby, you’ve had a C-section, like you’re trying to juggle this new schedule, this new life, and you’re trying to get back to what you were before,” Jessel said to US Weekly. “Plus, you add three years of IVF and all of that, you know, circus drama to the mix. It was very intense.”
Jessel admitted that she never did wear the green lingerie gifted to her in the Hamptons by Jenna Lyons, but she re-gifted the lingerie to Andy Cohen when she was recently a guest on WWHL.
