Clint Barton actor Jeremy Renner opens up about Robert Downey Jr. rejoining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Doctor Doom in Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars.

In a new interview with Us Magazine, Renner was asked about Downey Jr.’s Doctor Doom announcement at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. It turns out the Hawkeye star had no idea that his long-time Avengers cast member was coming back to the MCU, as he shared the following response:
The son of a b*tch didn’t say anything to me! We’re good friends. There’s the Avengers family chat. The original six. He said not a peep. I’m like, ‘What’s going on? Are you hiding this from us?’ I don’t know. That’s exciting news, man. I’m really, really excited about it.
