Jax Taylor has decided to seek in-patient treatment for his mental health struggles.
A rep for the former “Vanderpump Rules” star and host of the “When Reality Hits with Jax and Brittany” podcast, 45, confirmed the news to the Post in a statement on Tuesday, July 30.
The news comes on the heels of his split from his wife Brittany Cartwright, 35.

“Jax has always been candid about his mental health struggles, especially during the past few months on his podcast,” the rep said.
“He has made the decision to seek in-patient treatment. This is a particularly sensitive time for him and his family. They ask for privacy and respect until he is ready to speak more on this matter.”
On Monday, July 29, Taylor posted a photo of two books, “Get Out of Your Mind & Into Your Life” and “Set Boundaries, Find Peace,” on his Instagram story along with a caption that read “Healing,” according to TMZ.
Over the weekend, Taylor took to the main page of his Instagram to share a photo of a statue of Buddha with an inspirational quote overlayed on top. The quote hinted at his decision to seek help.
“Be strong enough to stand alone, smart enough to know when you need help, and brave enough to ask for it,” the quote read. He captioned the post with a smiling emoji, a prayer emoji, and a heart emoji.
Taylor has been open about his marital struggles with Cartwright, whom he has been in a relationship with for over a decade. The pair separated in February of 2024 after five years of marriage. However, they continued to work together and appear in public together.
In April, they attended The White House Correspondents Dinner together, though they stayed in separate hotel rooms.
“We’re just trying to figure things out,” he told “Entertainment Tonight” at the time. “I’ve given you real-time, I don’t know what’s going to happen. I am definitely working on myself right now.”
“The separation has definitely been good for me, but I do miss her,” Taylor continued. “I miss her a lot. So, I don’t know, we’ll see if she’ll take me back.”
While speaking with E! News, Taylor said, “I was going through a lot of personal issues with myself and my mental health that needed a time out.”
“Every week, it’s changing,” he continued. “We’re talking. We’re eating dinner, we’re going out for drinks. So, who knows? Do I want to be back together again? Of course I would, but, you know, we gotta see what’s healthy for us and our son.”
Taylor and Cruz share a three-year-old son, Cruz.
For her part, Cartwright acknowledged, “He needs to work on himself … there’s no back together right now.”
