The Canucks had been actively linked to the former Flames prospect Oliver Kylington.
Kylington finally found a new home as the Colorado Avalanche just announced they had signed him to a one-year deal. The Canucks are potentially shopping for a capable puck-moving defenceman, and Kylington was one of the cheapest options with NHL experience out there.
Kylington, 27, scored a career-high 31 points in 2021-2022. He was injured for the entirety of the 2022-2023 season before making a comeback in 2023-2024.
Known for his puck-moving skills, he had been linked to the Canucks due to the potential he never lived up to. He’ll have an opportunity in Colorado and prove his true worth with a one-year show deal.
