As long as reality TV exists, there will be reality stars blaming production companies for how they were portrayed. This time, it’s Oliver Saunders sounding off about his brief appearance on Vanderpump Rules. You’d think that with Garcelle Beauvais as a mother, Oliver would know that this isn’t the hill to die on. Regardless, he slammed the Pump Rules producers for how they portrayed him in Season 10.
If you recall, Oliver popped up on Season 10 of VPR and kissed Rachel Leviss. Technically, he was still married at the time, which made him look a little questionable. Ultimately, that whole situation ended up being overshadowed by Scandoval, but Oliver still felt some resentment. In his opinion, the show needlessly made him out to be a scummy cheater when there was much more to the story.
Blame it on the edit
According to Oliver, producers “spun” the story to make it look more dramatic. He said that he was “completely separated” from his wife at the time of his kiss with Rachel. They had their own separate apartments, making Oliver feel adamant that he didn’t cheat.
“If you saw the dinner with her… She was sort of trying to say that I was doing things that I wasn’t doing and she was doing at the same time,” Oliver claimed.
Before filming with Rachel, Oliver said that he had never seen an episode of VPR. He finally watched it to see himself on TV and said it was “pretty shocking” how the whole thing unfolded. Now, he plans on taking a step away from the Vanderpump Rules universe. He hasn’t even talked to Rachel since their date.
Oliver explained, “I’m taking a step back from all that. I’m just trying to stay out of the way.”
Of course, Oliver is still technically under the Vanderpump umbrella because he still works at one of Lisa Vanderpump’s establishments in Las Vegas. However, instead of popping up on VPR, Oliver said he’s going to be focusing on supporting his mom on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Right now, she’s filming a movie in Atlanta and Oliver said he and his son are going to travel to the set and film a few scenes with her for RHOBH.
“My mom has an amazing deal with Bravo right now. She’s producing one movie, she’s acting in another movie,” Oliver explained. “So I want to go support her and see her on set.”
