Garcelle Beauvais is one proud mom as one of her twin sons, Jaid Nilon, made his runway debut for Sutton Stracke’s special Green Label fashion show in Los Angeles.
She was thrilled for him and just a little bit nervous, too, as every mother would be. She did her best to keep her cool, though, as she and her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-stars all sat in the front row to support both Jaid and Sutton.
Proud mom moment
Garcelle opened up to Page Six during an interview before the show to share her excitement for Jaid’s debut. “My son Jaid is one of the models in the show. This is his first runway!” she said. “I’m so excited! He just started modeling.”
She was asked whether she was nervous for her son, the RHOBH star didn’t keep her feelings hidden on the matter. “Yes!” she shrieked. “Are you kidding? I had him practicing for me today. He’s like, ‘Mom, I’m not gonna look at you. Like, Mom, you gotta be cool’.”
For her part, Garcelle did her best to play it cool as she sat in the front row with her co-stars and watched her son strut his stuff on the catwalk in two outfits from Sutton’s new sustainable line of travel garments.
She couldn’t keep the smile off her face though as she filmed from her phone. Jaid, already the professional, wasn’t distracted and stayed focused during the show. And how she immediately shared an article on Jaid’s debut on her social media.
As for her other son, Jax, when asked about how he feels about his twin modeling, Garcelle shared that his only reaction was to say he was going to make fun of him. When she invited him to watch the show, he said, “Absolutely not!” But hey, they’re 16-year-old brothers — teasing is par for the course.
And Jaid wasn’t the only RHOBH kid at the show. Sutton’s daughter Porter was also there to support her mom’s new venture.
Model moment
While Sutton’s show marks Jaid’s runway debut, Garcelle has previously shared snippets of her boy building his modeling portfolio.
Looks like the proud mom isn’t shy about sharing her son’s photos and supporting his career. And though Sutton’s show may be his first runway, it’s likely not going to be his last.
