The Anaheim Ducks announced on Monday that they agreed to terms on two players on contracts. One was Jackson LaCombe, a former Minnesota Gopher, and the other was Nikita Nesterenko.
Nesterenko, 22, has recorded two goals in 12 NHL games in his career with the Ducks. He played in three games last year for the Ducks and scored a goal. In 70 AHL games, Nesterenko recorded 16 goals, 21 assists, and 37 points with the San Diego Gulls.
The 6-foot-2 forward recorded 28 goals, 49 assists, and 77 points in 97 games of his colligate career with the Boston College Eagles. Nesterenko was a sixth-round pick by the Wild in 2019. He played college hockey with Matt Boldy, whom the Wild drafted with pick 12 that year.
He ranked fourth in goals last year for the Gulls while he led San Diego rookie skaters in points, goals and assists. Nesterenko was acquired by the Ducks at the 2023 NHL Trade Deadline along with Andrej Sustr and a 2025 fourth-round pick for John Klingberg.
Klingberg, 31, recorded two goals, seven assists, and nine points in 17 games for the Wild after the trade. He had one goal, and four points in four playoff games that year as well.
He signed a one-year deal with the Toronto Maple Leafs last year and played in only 14 games. He had five assists and had season-ending hip surgery. Klingberg is currently a free agent.
