The former Wild defender will stay in the Central Division for anther year following the signing of his one-year deal with the St. Louis Blues.
Ryan Suter signed with the Blues for an average annual salary of $775,000 which includes up to an additional $2.225M in performance bonuses if met.
Suter, 39, signed a four-year contract with the Dallas Stars after he was bought out by the Wild a few years ago. The veteran defenseman played in every single game following the signing but was bought out by the Stars a few weeks ago.
The Blues will now give him the league minimum to join their team. Suter will now be making close to $9M next year if you take into account the three teams that are paying him. The Wild are paying him $7,371,795, the Stars $783,333, $1,433,333 next year, and the Blues are paying him $775,000.
He recorded 12 goals, 62 assists, and 74 points in 246 games with the Stars in his three seasons. In his nine seasons with the Wild, Suter recorded 55 goals, 314 assists, and 369 points in 656 games. Suter ranks second all-time in Wild history in assists and is second in points amongst defensemen.
