Could James Kennedy and Ally Lewber‘s relationship have been fabricated for fame?
Well, that rumor isn’t exactly brand new.
But as many begin to believe that Vanderpump Rules has been cancelled,
From the very beginning of their relationship, there have been rumors that James Kennedy and Ally Lewber had a romance of convenience.
James got to show his ex Rachel Leviss how over her he was, and Ally got a national platform to launch her music career and astrology business.
And just because there was no evidence didn’t stop fans from believing this theory.
But now that fans believe Ally and James have secretly split, it’s no surprise that the conspiracy theories have returned with a vengeance.
Jill Rocca, who shares Vanderpump Rules and other reality news and gossip via her TikTok @jillrocca, shared the growing rumor.
“The rumors are definitely swirling about Vanderpump Rules‘ James Kennedy and Ally Lewber that they have broken up,” Jill shared in a recent video.

“As of now, they’re just rumors, and neither one has confirmed this,” Jill clarified. “However, I’m really not that surprised. I never got the sense that Ally likes James as much as James likes Ally.”
“So as we know [James] started dating [Ally] about six weeks after his engagement to Raquel… We have seen her on Vanderpump Rules, she even moved in with him,” Jill continued.
“I don’t believe she’s on the house that James Kennedy recently purchased,” Jill elaborted.
“I believe there should be no splitting up assets,” Jill continued.
She also theorized that this could be coming due to the show’s rumored cancellation.
“I also wonder if this is a sign that Vanderpump Rules has been cancelled,” she speculated. “I always felt like Ally was with James for the fame and to be on TV.”
“We know she wanted to be just like Taylor Swift,” Jill continued. “So I wonder if Vanderpump Rules is now cancelled which is why they broke up.”
Though some were convinced by Jill’s theories in the comments, others weren’t so sure. Still, the rumors that VPR is cancelled have been rampant for months.
TMZ recently reported that the VPR cast will not be filming this summer. The show typically begins filming in May and continues to shoot all summer, but production will not be picking up the cameras this time.
A source told the outlet that Bravo has decided to pause filming to give the cast a “break.” Apparently Tom Sandoval and Rachel Leviss’ affair took a toll on the group and they all need a moment to step away.
TMZ noted that production is hopeful the group will take some time for themselves and bring back some new drama when they are ready to return.
However, fans are convinced this is Bravo’s way of turning things into a “soft cancellation.” Many think the cast will not return to film at all.
According to executive producer Alex Baskin, the crew does not have a time frame for when they think the cast will be ready to film for Season 12. He said that after Season 10 wrapped amid the affair, jumping into Season 11 was “such an intense experience in such a compressed timeframe.”
“We’ll have a clearer picture a few months from now,” Alex admitted at the Variety’s TV FYC Fest, according to OK! Magazine.
The producer said that there will be a process when determining the comeback of VPR.
“I think we will do an analysis of what else we need to consider for the show – and that’s who returns, and what the complexion of the cast looks like,” he said. “I think everybody needs a little bit of time to live their lives, and then we can pick back up on them in a different spot.”
Scheana Shay recently said production was telling the cast midseason that things needed to be improved or the show would be canceled.
“It was, you know, ‘X, Y and Z needs to happen. Or we’re going to have a short season and the show’s going to be canceled and that’s it. Go live your lives,” Scheana told her podcast listeners.
According to Alex, this wasn’t necessarily the case.
“I think that was a pretty dramatic, heightened account of what happened,” he confessed.
Alex went into more detail about Scheana’s claim. Apparently the group did have a midseason discussion because things on social media were becoming intense amid the affair.
He previously admitted they were struggling, but production never told the group that they needed to improve – as Scheana said.
“We did get the entire cast together, and we thought we had hit a point in the season where I actually think that they were impacted by what was happening on social media,” Alex explained. “We basically were telling them to drown out the noise, and to make the show that they had made over the previous 10 seasons – and that didn’t mean we asked them to manufacture anything.”
The producer said they did not give them “talking points” or direct them on how to live their lives in front of the camera.
“It just meant that we had made a show that worked because it was everybody rowing in the same direction, and reacting to each other. And we’ve gotten away from that. So we thought that we had to intervene in that sense,” he continued.
Fans rambled about the idea of some VPR cast members heading to The Valley to star alongside Jax Taylor, Brittany Cartwright and Kristen Doute.
According to Alex, there’s no possibility of this happening.
“We’re very encouraged by the debut of The Valley,” Alex told the The Hollywood Reporter. “I think it’s established itself in its own right. I know there’s a ton of speculation about [Vanderpump] transfers over to The Valley, but that cast is pretty full right now.”
While there’s room for some “crossover,” it looks like there are no immediate plans for anyone to jump ship.
“I would imagine you’ll continue to see crossover like you have, but that cast is bursting at the seams,” he told the outlet. “It’s not like we’re in need of additional cast members.”
