Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts posted workout photos on Instagram of himself on the football field and in the gym as he readies for the 2024 NFL season, with the caption reading: “A New Chapter To The Story…#BREEDOF1.”
Most notably, new Eagles running back Saquon Barkley appeared in one of the photos alongside Hurts working out on the field.
Hurts and the Eagles are trying to bounce back from a disastrous end to the 2023 season when Philadelphia began 10-1 before finishing the regular season 1-5 and falling 32-9 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Wild Card round.
Philadelphia lost some key players this offseason via retirement (Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox), trade (Haason Reddick) and free agency (Kevin Byard). However, the Eagles have also brought in some reinforcements, with Barkley chief among them.
In Hurts’ three full seasons as a starter (2021-2023), he’s rushed for 2,149 yards and 38 touchdowns. Adding a dynamic and versatile threat like Barkley in the backfield only makes the Eagles’ running game more dangerous with Hurts leading the way.
The two are building chemistry early on in hopes of helping Philadelphia bounce back from a brutal end to the year, and Hurts seems focused on beginning that new chapter and moving forward.
