The RHONJ cast member also shared an update on Paulie Connell’s divorce.
Paul “Paulie” Connell had boasted about the fact that he had picked out an engagement ring for Dolores Catania on The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 13, but are the two actually any closer to taking a trip down the aisle?
Dolores answered that very question when she appeared on the August 4 episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen.
When asked if she envisions getting engaged in either 2024 or 2025, Dolores candidly admitted, “I don’t know.”
Though she talked about wanting to take the next step in her relationship on RHONJ Season 14, Dolores is content, at the moment, with where things currently are at with Paulie.
“We don’t know, we’re good. We’re good right now, you know?” she told host Andy Cohen. “I want peace, and I want a nice relationship.”
Is Paulie Connell divorced yet?
Even if the two were getting closer to an engagement, there’s another roadblock standing in their way: Paulie’s still legally married to someone else.
As Paulie revealed on the Season 13 reunion, he’s been separated from his first wife (with whom he shares two sons) for about 15 years. Though his divorce has taken quite some time, Paulie said that he is on good terms with his estranged wife and that Dolores is the first woman he’s introduced his kids to since they split.
Though things are good with both Dolores and his ex, Paulie still hasn’t given a clear answer as to why his divorce is taking so long.
On Season 14, Episode 6, the RHONJ ladies asked Dolores about an engagement. “There’s no reason to talk about that until this divorce is final,” Dolores said. “We’re here, but to go here, you have to finalize what you’re doing.”
Fast-forward to WWHL and Dolores told Andy to ask Paul himself (who was in the audience) about where his divorce stood.
“Well, that’s a Paulie question,” Dolores said when Andy inquired about a divorce update. “He’s working on it.”
“Paulie’s so glad there’s no reunion,” Andy said, and Paulie jokingly made a sign of the cross in response.
