Jayden Daniels isn’t the only rookie quarterback on Washington’s roster this summer. After the draft, the Commanders signed the former Wake Forest and Notre Dame quarterback to a priority free-agent contract. Hartman is competing with Jeff Driskel to be Washington’s third quarterback in 2024.
Hartman is popular—particularly with the ladies. On a recent episode of the “Command Center” podcast, former Washington cornerback Fred Smoot joked that he was tired of different family members asking about Hartman, whether he was single, etc. Smoot even said that the day before, a lady stopped him in the grocery store and asked about the 2024 Commanders before the conversation turned to, you guessed it, Sam Hartman.
On Friday, Kay Adams of “Up & Adams” for a stop on her training camp tour and asked head coach Dan Quinn about Hartman.
Quinn complimented Hartman before saying, “Looks good, plays good,” while laughing with Adams.
Check it out:
Will the Commanders keep three quarterbacks on their 53-man roster? Daniels and Marcus Mariota will be the starter and the backup. However, Mariota only signed a one-year deal in the offseason. Washington obviously liked Hartman, signing him to a significant bonus after April’s draft.
When the preseason opens soon, all eyes will be on Hartman.
