The Kansas City Chiefs managed to repeat as Super Bowl champions despite their lack of offensive weapons and talent.
While Patrick Mahomes can cover for just about any offensive shortcoming, even he had trouble moving the football through the air on occasion.
If it wasn’t for the defense, the Chiefs may not have gotten very far in the 2023 NFL Playoffs so the front office knows they need to make some significant additions to their offense.
Kansas City did well in free agency to get Marquise Brown on a team-friendly one-year deal to bolster the receiver corps, but he can’t be the only addition.
In a surprising move, the Chiefs went outside the box and came to an agreement with rugby star Louis Rees-Zammit in free agency.
Shortly after he signed his contract, Rees-Zammit had a message to the Kansas City fanbase via his personal Twitter account.
“Chiefs Kingdom let’s get to work,” Rees-Zammit tweeted.

Rees-Zammit’s move to the NFL comes as a surprise as he was one of the fastest rising stars in rugby.
The former winger from Wales has a blazing speed at 6’3″ and 212 pounds, making him an intriguing prospect for a team like the Chiefs who could use more speed and athleticism on the field.
While his position hasn’t been determined yet, head coach Andy Reid will likely give him looks at both running back and wide receiver, as well as on special teams.
Reez-Zammit has an uphill climb to learn professional football, but he possesses elite physical attributes that make him worth the gamble.
