Carlos King wants Teddi Mellencamp back on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Unfortunately for Carlos, most Bravo fans would disagree with him. Not only that, but Bravo almost certainly disagrees with him.
Teddi is no stranger to criticism. Despite having only guest roles since Season 11, Teddi remains a prominent figure in the Bravoverse. Her shared podcast with Tamra Judge is one of the most influential in the reality TV online space.
However, that influence comes with a price. Bravo fans are quick to dismiss almost anything Teddi says. Nevertheless, the former Housewife stands her ground. And that attitude is part of what has Carlos King begging for her comeback.
Carlos compares Teddi’s potential return with Tamra’s
In his recent appearance on the Gabbing with Gib podcast, Carlos made his case for Teddi’s return. “I am an avid [supporter] for Teddi Mellencamp coming back to Beverly Hills for the sole purpose of she has a beautiful, organic friendship with Kyle Richards.” Carlos’ favoritism towards Kyle was never a big secret and he’s fine to admit it now.
Still, his reasoning went deeper. He further explained, “And Teddi is not who she was when that show started. She is a mouthy motherf*cker, and she doesn’t give a f*ck what anyone thinks about her. And I feel like Kyle, being the face of the franchise, needs a real friend. A real friend, so don’t be afraid to rehire Teddi.”
Carlos used Real Housewives of Orange County as a positive example, saying that rehiring old cast members was a net benefit to the show. “What I feel like the other shows can take a page out of the OC book, is don’t be afraid to rehire somebody who may not be the fan favorite,” Carlos said.
He concluded his thoughts by citing Tamra’s return to the OC. “From a social media standpoint, [Tamra] is a very big difference. There’s a lot of people on social media who may not like Tamra, but you needed her. So I would definitely look to bringing those people back.”
Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is streaming on Peacock while RHOC continues Thursdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
