Quite a bit has changed for the cast of The Real Housewives of Dubai since season one ended and the second installment began. Not only have there been changes in relationship dynamics on the show, but Taleen Marie also joined as a full-time cast member. Recently, Caroline Brooks spoke out about Taleen’s new friendship with Caroline Stanbury and how the newbie begged to get on the show.
RHODubai premiered in June 2021. So far, fans seem to love the second season of the show, with many calling it refreshing. However, it hasn’t found a big audience despite the positive word of mouth.
Caroline recently spoke to Decider and went into detail about the new season and why she and the other Caroline fell out. According to the RHODubai star, “I fell out with Stanbury because of Taleen.”
She explains, “Caroline Stanbury did not want her on the show. Nina Ali and Sara Al Madani and me and Caroline Stanbury all know that’s the truth. We have a group chat together. Stanbury did not want her on The Real Housewives of Dubai.”
Caroline then goes into detail about why her ex-friend became close to Taleen. She says, “Stanbury was mad at me for going hard, sticking up for Taleen, then became friends with Taleen just to spite me — not because she actually gives a hoot about that girl.”
She then discusses why she doesn’t think a friendship between the two ladies is actually sustainable beyond Caroline wanting to upset her.
She adds, “Taleen’s personality is not going to jive well with Stanbury in the long term. I know this, she’s too much for her, you know what I mean? And she’s trying to be the center of attention. Caroline wants to be the center of attention.”
Caroline continues, “How is that going to go well? It’s not. That’s why I said, ‘Let Taleen burn,’ in the last episode. She’ll burn. If me and Stanbury make up, Taleen and Stanbury’s friendship is done.”
Caroline also had more to say to Decider about her longtime friend turned enemy. She says the newbie is lying about knowing she called her a beggar. Caroline even apologized to Taleen on the show about the insult, but it was never made clear to viewers what the apology was for.
She starts, “She’s lying. Because I called her a beggar on my way out of the scene at August on the roof by the elevator shaft. When I was leaving, I said, ‘You’re a beggar. You begged me to be on this show.’ And that’s what she got upset about.”
She goes on to talk about how incessant Taleen was about getting on the show.
“It was repetitive, it was over and over and over again. Please do whatever you can, please.’ Like, begging. She begged to be on the show. And so I was like, ‘OK doll, I’ll do it. Like, I’ll do whatever it takes.’ And I did. So I was honest. It may have been hard to hear, but I was honest.”
Caroline also shares that the newbie was “almost in tears” when she learned she’d been selected for the show. She then explains how she tried to help her fit in. Caroline explains, “I started to invite her out as much as I can with the other girls so she could know them, meet them and greet them and start to have kind of a history with them so it made sense.”
She continues, “And we really worked hard — I did, that is because she wouldn’t have come in through anybody else.”
