Javonte Green is back with the Chicago Bulls for their final push. The veteran guard/forward, who initially returned to the Bulls on a 10-day contract via the injury hardship exception, will stick around on a standard deal. The Bulls waived Terry Taylor to make room for Green.
Green’s hustle and defensive prowess made him a fan favorite during his first stint with the Bulls from 2021 to 2023. He moved on to the Golden State Warriors to begin this season but never suited up for the NBA squad.
When Bulls’ injuries piled up at the end of March, his old organization came calling. Green appeared in three recent games and averaged five points, 3.7 rebounds, and 0.7 steals per contest for Chicago.
With Julian Phillips’ injury still lingering, the Bulls elected to retain Green. Taylor, the odd man out, averaged 1.5 points, 1.2 rebounds, and 0.3 assists per game in limited minutes spread across 31 contests.
The Bulls are back in action Friday when they host the New York Knicks. Tip-off is at 7 PM CT and the game will air on NBC Sports Chicago.
