Bryce Young will demand respect heading into his second season.
The Carolina Panthers have made it a priority.
Now the rest of the NFL world appears to be catching on. In an early June article by NFL.com’s Eric Edholm, Young was labeled one of nine NFL players who appear destined to have a productive and impressive 2024 season.
“Young wasn’t a total failure as a rookie, boasting an interception rate of 1.9 percent and turning into a respectable scrambler, something he didn’t do a lot of at Alabama. But what he did do there was win, going 23-4 at the highest level of competition in college football,” Edholm writes. “Young’s winning pedigree dates back to high school, too, which makes me think he’ll find a way to become a quality NFL starter eventually. It might not happen immediately, but I would be shocked if he’s not at least marginally better in Year 2.”
It appears that success is heading Young’s way.
Carolina added two big guards Damien Lewis and Robert Hunt. The franchise also added in the passing game with wide receivers Diontae Johnson and Xavier Legette. All signs point to the run game being improved with Jonathon Brooks. Young has no excuse to fail.
If he does, the Panthers will be having a dramatically different conversation come 2025.
