Bryce Young didn’t light the world on fire during his rookie season.
He did quite the opposite.
Young led the Panthers on one of the team’s worst seasons in recent memory, falling to a 2-15 record while he struggled to push the ball downfield. Recently, football analyst Warren Sharp ranked the top quarterbacks for passing between the numbers. Leading the field was Kirk Cousins. However, not surprising was Young’s placement near the bottom of the list at No. 28.
Directly ranked behind Young were Sam Howell, Kyler Murray, Joshua Dobbs, Mac Jones, Will Levis, Joe Flacco, Bailey Zappe and Daniel Jones.

That isn’t a list of names you want to be in. But, for Young, there is hope.
Carolina invested in the offense, adding two guards and wide receiver help. Dave Canales looks deadset on running the ball well, which should open up more opportunities to test Young’s high-level playmaking skills.
If he plays the way he did at Alabama, he may not lead the league passing between the numbers. But he will be better than No. 28, for sure.
