Bruins Were Perfect Landing Spot for New Star

This Boston Bruins newcomer made the right choice in free agency.

The Boston Bruins made multiple additions to their roster this offseason, but the biggest was Elias Lindholm. On the first day of free agency, the Bruins signed Lindholm to a seven-year, $54.25 million contract. Finally, after multiple years of trying to bring him to Boston, GM Don Sweeney got his guy.

Reports: Bruins sign both Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov - Stanley Cup of Chowder

When looking at the Bruins’ roster, there is no question that they were the perfect landing spot for Lindholm this summer. With the Bruins, Lindholm will have all the opportunity in the world to bounce back and thrive.

Lindholm, 29, is the clear frontrunner to be the Bruins’ new first-line center heading into 2024-25. With this, he is expected to play on a line with Pavel Zacha and superstar winger David Pastrnak. Playing with Pastrnak, one of the NHL’s most dominant scorers, has the potential to benefit Lindholm’s offensive totals immensely.

However, besides being Boston’s expected 1C, Lindholm will undoubtedly be given plenty of reps on both their power play and penalty kill units. Due to this, he will be a legitimate core piece and crucial player as they look to continue their run as contenders.

Ultimately, Lindholm has found himself a great spot with the Bruins. It will now be very interesting to see how he performs with this golden opportunity in front of him.
