Oskar Jellvik is a prospect who Boston Bruins fans should be keeping a closer eye on. The 2021 fifth-round pick broke out in a big way for Boston College this past season, recording 13 goals, 29 assists, and 42 points in 41 games. This was after he had four goals and 17 points in 34 contests during his freshman season with the school.
After his excellent season with BC, Jellvik has become a more notable prospect in the Bruins’ system and is viewed as having NHL upside. Yet, while he took a big step forward last season, he will remain with BC for the 2024-25 campaign.
Although Jellvik had such a strong season for BC, there is an apparent reason to believe he will hit another level for the school this upcoming season. At 21 years old, Jellvik is still developing his game, and he is likely not close to hitting his ceiling yet.
Jellvik showed last season with BC that he has the potential to be a very impactful playmaker, and it would not be shocking in the slightest if his stats go up in 2024-25 because of it. The Taby, Sweden native is entering the campaign with another year of experience, which should also help with his confidence and overall play at the NCAA level.
If Jellvik takes another big step forward in his development and hits new offensive levels for BC, he will receive high consideration for an NHL deal from the Bruins next spring. Thus, Jellvik has plenty to play for next season, and it will be fun to see what he does for an encore after his excellent 2023-24 campaign.
