The Boston Bruins made multiple roster additions this offseason. This is understandable, as they had plenty of cap space to work with, and several players from last season’s roster also left.
On Friday, the Bruins announced their new players’ numbers.
Top free-agent signing Elias Lindholm will sport No. 28 for the Bruins. This is a familiar number for Lindholm, who wore it during his six-year stint with the Calgary Flames. However, after being dealt to the Vancouver Canucks last season, he wore No. 23. The last Bruin to wear No. 28 was Derek Forbort in 2023-24.
Mark Kastelic is returning to a familiar number, as he is set to wear No. 47 for the Bruins. He started his career wearing No. 47 with the Ottawa Senators but sported No. 12 last season. The last player to wear No. 47 for the Bruins was former fan favorite Torey Krug from 2012 to 2020.
Joonas Korpisalo will wear No. 70 for the Bruins, just like he has throughout the entirety of his NHL career. The last Bruins player to sport No. 70 was Jesper Boqvist last season. Other Bruins goalies who have worn it in regular-season play are Matt DelGuidice, Tim Thomas (2003), and Malcolm Subban.
Max Jones will rock No. 49 for the Bruins, just like he did throughout his time with the Anaheim Ducks. He will be the first player since Rich Peverley in 2013 to wear the number.
Riley Tufte will wear No. 10 for the Bruins. He also wore the number with the Colorado Avalanche last season. The last player to rock No. 10 for the Bruins was A.J. Greer.
Earlier this month, Nikita Zadorov revealed that he would wear No. 91 in Boston. He certainly has some big shoes to fill, as former star Marc Savard was the last Bruin to sport the number.
