Private investigator Bo Dietl opened up about his run-in with Melissa and Joe Gorga, slammed Joe for suggesting he was lying about investigating the Real Housewives of New Jersey cast, and told Margaret Josephs to “sleep well tonight.”
At the recent reunion, Luis Ruelas said he never hired Bo to investigate his co-stars, despite a previous comment suggesting otherwise. In the taping, many of the castmates insinuated Luis was lying.
On the Behind The Velvet Rope With David Yontef podcast, Bo said he, Luis, and his wife Teresa Giudice have “been out to dinners many times,” and he addressed the rumor he was hired to investigate co-stars.
“Louis never hired us. And I’m very specific how I say it, because there’s a reason. Louie never hired us to do any backgrounds on any of the cast members. I say it for a reason. Cause if he hired me to do something else other than that, that’s a confidential investigation,” he explained.
The PI discussed his run-in with Joe and Melissa at a New Jersey restaurant.
“I was in Avra with my friend Burke Capone and a couple of my guys. And next thing is like, who’s sitting next to me is Melissa and some gal … [and] she goes, ‘oh, that’s the guy that’s following me doing all the events.’ I said, ‘Melissa, lemme tell you something. I’m telling you right to your face. That’s not true.’”
He went on, “I said, ‘Where’s your husband? … Tell him to come over here.’ He sits down with me and I said, ‘Let me, let me tell you one time, okay, I never ever was hired by Louie. I’ve never done any background on you, Joe. If you can’t accept it, tough.’”
According to Bo, Joe later indicated that he didn’t believe him. “When he says, ‘I don’t believe you’ … don’t call me a liar. Cause if you call me a liar, you know what I’m gonna do. I’ll investigate you on my own, my own dime, and I’ll find all your dirt. So let’s not have a little battle here cause you’re gonna lose. And that’s not a threat. All I’m saying is don’t call me a liar,” said Bo.
He added, “If I did do it, where is the evidence? If I did all that, I’m sure Louis would’ve thrown it in their faces, but he never did it. And anybody that’s listening or anybody who’s online, just think about it. If I did it, why wouldn’t Louis come out with it?”
Bo was then asked if Luis would be in breach of contract if Luis had mentioned Bo after signing a contract to investigate castmates.
“The point is, we’re a private investigator. Confidentiality is the most important thing. So if Louie hired me and signed a contract for me to do backgrounds on the cast members, he would be under that confidentiality. So he would not be able to talk about that. Otherwise, he’d be in breach of my contract,” said Bo. “If it’s gonna be a confidential investigation, you shouldn’t have any right to talk about my investigation.”
The PI insisted he wasn’t hired to investigate the cast. “For me to do investigations with all those cast members, Lou would’ve [had] to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars. Why would I do something for free in my business?” he asked.
Bo expressed, “Everybody’s got skeletons,” and he addressed the cast members directly. “I never did anything on you. So sleep well tonight. What’s her name, that blonde? Margaret, sleep well tonight. We didn’t do anything. So all those, all that cash that you stuffed under your mattress, don’t worry about it. Bo ain’t investigating you.”
