The ‘It Ends With Us’ actress had a hard time answering the ‘insane’ question.
We already know Blake Lively is a massive Swiftie, but answering questions about Taylor Swift‘s music isn’t exactly easy for her.
While appearing on the Australian television show The Project with her It Ends With Us co-star Jenny Slate, Lively was asked a “wild question” about the “Fortnight” songstress—which she simply could not answer.
The actress, 36, was practically left speechless after the host asked her to pick one song out of Swift’s entire 11-album discography to be the soundtrack of her life.
“You can’t ask me to pick one song,” Lively said, calling it “wild” to even propose such an idea.
“Honestly, I love her music too much to pick one song. That’s just, like, insane,” the Gossip Girl alum explained, before quipping, “I can tell you my favorite child sooner if you would like to know that.”
“I’m joking,” she then added, saying, “I genuinely don’t have a favorite child or song.”
Lively—who stars in the upcoming film based on Colleen Hoover‘s best-selling book—shares four children with husband Ryan Reynolds: daughters James, 9, Inez, 7, and Betty, 4, plus an 18-month-old son, whose name, Olin, was just recently made public.
Her co-star, Slate, who plays Lively’s on-screen best friend in the new movie, wasn’t as flustered by the question, and was able to throw out some titles of her favorite Swift tracks, which include “Bejeweled” and “Karma.”
But despite her indecisiveness, we know that Lively still found a way for Swift’s music to be included in It Ends With Us, as she personally chose her superstar bestie’s deep cut “My Tears Ricochet” to be featured in the official movie trailer.
“You could’ve put any song [in the trailer],” Lively said at the time, adding that Swift’s music is “unmatched.”
It Ends With Us officially hits theaters on Aug. 9, 2024.
