Bette Midler has revealed if anyone ever asked her to join Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills after she made a public plea four months ago to be cast.
The actress, 73, wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter) in March: ‘Is it too late for me to become a Real Housewife of Beverly Hills?
‘I’ve never watched it, but I am in the mood to talk some s***. And to get paid for it? A dream!’ she penned in the March tweet.
At the time Bravo answered the request with, ‘Talk about a glorious crossover.’
Now she has told E! News that no one even took her up on her offer.
‘I did tweet that and I did get some really strange feedback,’ The Politician actress said, adding, she ‘always hints’ on the social media platform when she wants a role
She has also asked to be on the Emmy winning Abbott Elementary.
And she could be a little closer to coming true, now that she knows one of the stars personally.
The Divine Ms. M co-starred with actress Sheryl Lee Ralph in her upcoming film The Fabulous Four.
As for joining the reality show, The Rose singer said it could be ‘a little bit more than a problem’ than joining the Abbott Elementary cast.
‘I’m not exactly a [housewife]. I mean, I am more of a housewife than they are. But I don’t know… why not? Who cares after all this time?’ she said.
In a May interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Housewives creator Andy Cohen was asked about adding well known celebrities to the cast.
‘Tori Spelling has made a lot of noise about wanting to be on the show. She’d definitely bring great drama, but we’ve never really had a serious conversation about her for some reason,’ the executive producer said.
‘I actually have mixed feelings about having stars on the show. When Lisa Rinna was trying out for season one of Beverly Hills, I was very much against the idea. Like, she’s already a celebrity! But then she came, and it made perfect sense.’ he said.
Since then, it was announced actress Jennifer Tilly, 65, would be joining the show as a ‘friend.’
On Thursday, Midler announced she had joined TikTok, sharing the message across media platforms in a video.
‘Hi everybody! I’m on TikTok,’ she said in the clip. ‘Yes, I am, and I’ll tell you why, ’cause everyone on that platform is absolutely hilarious. I want to be at that party too. Okay, I’ll see ya then.’
Midler stars with Ralph, Susan Sarandon and Megan Mullaly in the Fabulous Four, which opens July 26.
‘They’re all sensational actors to watch,’ the star told E!, Everybody has a different process and to watch each person find their way through their own process… the acting is so real.
Of the romantic comedy the Golden Globe winner said, ‘I love the outrageousness of it.’
Midler also revealed she is eager to reunite with pals Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy for Hocus Pocus 3 after the success of 2022’s Hocus Pocus 2.
‘When I heard about it, they told me they were going to have a script written on it, so they sort of dangled [the third chapter] in front of our eyes,’ she said, adding she had been told the script was being worked on, ‘but we haven’t seen anything yet.’
The actress said there’s another popular project she would like to visit – 1996’s First Wives Club, with Goldie Hawn and Diane Keaton. ‘I love both those girls. I think they’re tremendous,’ she said.
