In the latest episode of The Bachelorette, Jenn Tran got a chance to see her men on display. While it has the men outside their comfort zone, she gets a little view of their hearts.
Group Date Jitters
During the July 22 episode of The Bachelorette, Jenn Tran‘s men were put to the test during a group date. At the beginning of the show, Jenn takes a group of men vying for her heart to a performance arts challenge. In her first group date for the night, Devin Strader, Dylan Buckor, Grant Ellis, John Mitchell, Jonathon Johnson, Marcus Shoberg, Sam McKinney, Sam Nejad, Thomas Nguyen, and Tomas Azzano prepare to take the stage. Undeniably, the challenge came with the men stripping down which put many outside their comfort zone.
The Bachelorette Contestants Forced Out Of Comfort Zone On Dates
Although The Bachelorette, Jenn Tran, didn’t seem to mind seeing the group of guys strut their stuff, some of the men weren’t comfortable. As the men were shown what was expected from them, it was obvious that many weren’t feeling confident about putting everything out there for Jenn and a crowd to see. At that time, Jenn’s guys were coached by dancers from Australia’s Thunder from Down Under to explore their sexual sides in a personalized striptease for Jenn.
They were told to rehearse getting down to their underwear and be ready to bare all to the world. Jokingly, Jenn said she certainly wanted to get to know what they had “Down Under” but then added, “their hearts.” Knowing it was a bit racy, the Bachelor Nation sent out a disclaimer in fun before airing the show. Several of the men were pressured to take clothes off that didn’t want to and even felt humiliated from prior body image issues. Specifically, Devin Strader reveals he battled with insecurities of feeling like the “fat kid” growing up. But they each embrace the challenge and dance for Jenn. All but one, Sam N.
Sam Nejad Fights Against His Unsettling Anxiety Over Performing
While many of the men overcame their nerves, one contestant, Sam N. couldn’t get past feeling like it was an unreasonable ask from The Bachelorette producers for him to be nude in front of Jenn Tran and a crowd. Especially since his reason for being there was to grow a personal relationship not just based on physical attraction. Additionally, he gave a valiant effort in the coaching session but injured his thumb and subsequently his pride.
After great debate, he chose to bare his soul instead of his body like the rest of the group. Although the others who felt completely out of their comfort zone dug deep to find a way to show Jenn they cared, Sam N. remained under wraps. However, he opened his heart to show Jenn his love and care instead. When he professes his feelings on stage, it takes Jenn off guard, but she appreciates the sentiment. However, other contestants thought his proclamation of love was premature, especially coming from a self-identified “Love Virgin.”
The Bachelorette Causes Unnecessary Stress
Furthermore, many people believe The Bachelorette production team is unnecessarily including dates that are degrading to the contestants. Furthermore, some of the proposed dates are causing stress that doesn’t seem to help anyone. Undeniably, some people love to see men lose as many layers as possible. However, others find it to be unimportant for the Bachelorette to find their match. While it isn’t unusual for Bachelor Nation to insert some nudity into the storyline, some people think there are better ways to win over the Bachelorette. For instance, The Golden Bachelor hosted a talent show. Seemingly, that gave the contestants a wider variety to showcase their talents without requiring the contestants to strip to their skivvies.
What do you think? Are you glad they include dates that show off the men’s physical attributes? Would you prefer The Bachelorette leave out these types of competitions? Are you enjoying Jenn Tran’s journey to love? Drop your comments below.
