Atlanta Hawks Fans Demand Trae Young Trade After Brutal Play-In Disappointment

Trae Young’s time playing for the Atlanta Hawks may come to an end after his disappointing Play-In performance against the Chicago Bulls. With fans calling for the All-Star point guard’s head, the front office may have to act swiftly during the offseason.

In Atlanta’s recent Play-In game against the Bulls, the latter went home with the 131-116 victory over the former. Coby White had a monster game when he dropped 42 points on 71 percent shooting from the field, nine rebounds, six assists, and zero turnovers. Nikola Vucevic made 24 points and 12 rebounds, while DeMar DeRozan added 22 points and nine assists

On the other hand, Dejounte Murray tallied 30 points, seven rebounds, and six assists to lead his team. Young posted 22 points and 10 assists, while Clint Capela contributed 22 points and 17 rebounds.

Chicago’s win helped them advance to face a Jimmy Butler-less Miami Heat squad with the victor securing a playoff spot to face the Boston Celtics in the first round. However, the ATL has been eliminated from contention after they fell to the Bulls.

Atlanta Hawks Fanbase Call for Trae Young Trade After Disappointing Play-In Loss

After Atlanta’s loss, the point guard’s failure to elevate his team was highlighted. As a result, the franchise’s fanbase have begun calling out the front office to trade the All-Star point guard right away. Shown below are some fan reactions posted on X:

“I throw shade at nearly every trade scenario involving the Magic & a current star You won’t read me doing that about Trae Young,” old, dude posted.

“Time to trade Trae Young. It ain’t going to work. Too small and can’t guard a crossing,” CJ Moses Malone tweeted.

“Trade trae young. Get him out, get the maximum value we can get,” SeDeusQuiser said.

The point guard missed a huge chunk of the season due to a finger injury. In the games he did play, the Hawks star averaged 25.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, 10.8 assists, and 1.3 steals per contest while shooting 43 percent from the field, 37 percent from deep, and 85 percent from the free throw line.

The franchise will have to face a tough choice of getting the most value out their All-Star in a trade or keep him to their detriment. In any case, a lot of eyes will be on the point guard as the offseason progresses.
