Ashley Darby may still be amidst an ongoing divorce, but she’s back in a wedding dress.
OK, so maybe The Real Housewives of Potomac cast member isn’t exactly getting married again just yet, but she tried on some dresses for size for DC Magazine in a stunning new photoshoot.
“I’m fully embracing my lover girl era, and [DC Magazine] is really helping me get into it!” Ashley captioned a July 11 Instagram series that showed off several stunning wedding dresses from Zoya’s Atelier in a dreamy editorial. “[T]hank you for a great shoot! Look forward to making it a reality one day soon.”
Ashley tried on several gorgeous gowns for the occasion, including a plunging, off-the-shoulder gown with a sparkly silver beaded bodice that hugged her curves before splaying out into a mermaid silhouette with a white ruffle train.
Another photo showed an adorable fitted white square-neck dress with beaded detail and white bow straps while a behind-the-scenes video of the shoot revealed more looks Ashley tried on, including a strapless baby blue satin gown that was paired with strings of pearls and a cute updo.
Ashley Darby’s Wedding Dress and Appearance on Say Yes to the Dress
Ashley looks beautiful in any wedding dress style, and she also looked stunning on her actual wedding day in 2014.
For her wedding, Ashley opted for an elegant Maggie Sottero gown featuring a beaded halter top, cleavage cutout, and silver adornment gathered at the midriff. The mom of two added a white floral accessory to her lightly tousled locks for the big day.
While the Maggie Sottero dress was Ashley’s final choice for her beachside nuptials, she first went through several options at Kleinfeld Bridal in New York City in 2013 on Say Yes to the Dress.
“It was so fun doing Say Yes to the Dress. I applied on a whim. I didn’t think I would actually make it,” Ashley told The Daily Dish in a past interview. “But then I thought, a 29-year age difference [with Michael Darby], I was a beauty queen, like ‘OK, hello, this is a recipe for a good show.'”
“I took my mom and my best friends, and we went up, and I tried on all these dresses, and my biggest thing was to make sure that my best assets were accentuated,” Ashley said of her time on the reality program. “And [the dresses] were cute, but nothing wowed me. I wasn’t in love with anything. I think I would have regretted it if I had just worn something that was just eh, you know? On that day, you are meant to shine, and I didn’t want to be mediocre.”
