Andy Cohen is reflecting on the Real Housewives franchise differently now that he’s a dad, and there’s one thing in particular that triggers him when he watches cast members fight.
In a preview for this week’s episode of Bitch Sesh: A Real Housewives Breakdown, Cohen appears as a guest to break down the season finale of Real Housewives of New Jersey with show hosts Casey Wilson and Danielle Schneider. Among the topics discussed by the trio is the controversial comments Teresa Giudice’s husband Luis Relas made about Margaret Joseph’s son.
“My perspective on the Housewives has shifted a little bit since becoming a dad,” Cohen said. “Just because I pay attention to different… you know, I look at it a little differently.” The Watch What Happens Live host continued, “But man, let me tell you something. If someone that I didn’t care for invoked either of my children’s names, I would go… As ‘mellow yellow’ as I usually am, that is what it would take for me,” Cohen admitted.
The dad of two said, “Danielle Cabral’s button is ‘Don’t talk about my husband’s pecks.’ Mine would be if you mention my children in an unfavorable way. Like, I would go absolutely mental,” Cohen concluded. Speaking ill of anyone’s children is definitely an unacceptable level of unkindness, and as a parent, you never want to hear someone talk negatively or in a threatening manner about your kids. It’s a heated revelation from Cohen, but we don’t blame him for his protective stance.
Cohen became a dad in 2019 when he welcomed his son Ben via surrogate. The Bravo host opted for surrogacy again in 2022 when he wanted to add another child to his family: a daughter named Lucy. A few months after Lucy’s arrival, Cohen shared some of his parenting advice at BravoCon. “Get help. Just try to be present,” he said, per People. “Figure out your relationship with your phone. Try to have fun. And get help,” he quipped again.
