Andy Cohen is taking to his radio show to clear up the rumors over The Real Housewives of New Jersey getting a “reboot” next season. The Bravo show has always been explosive, but this past season saw so much toxicity in the group that the show’s traditional reunion was scrapped.
Following the changes to the reunion, it was clear that the Real Housewives of New Jersey dynamics had reached a point of no return. The Bravo show has its own cast members calling it toxic, rumors of a Kathy Wakile return, and some fans suggesting its entertainment element has turned into some form of “evil.”
Andy Cohen clarifies his comments
This July, the internet had its ears open when Andy Cohen began talking about RHONJ getting a “reboot” next season.
Some are really keen for the show to get a full revamp, but others fear a reboot will see it “crash and burn,” comparing it to RHONY, which also had a full revamp of its cast after many years.
Speaking on his radio show, Andy said: “We had a caller the other day who called in about the Jersey housewives and I was just riffing.

“She had not heard that we are going to reimagine the show in some way… I’m like ‘well, yeah, we’re rebooting it, that’s why, we got it’, she was kind of yammering on about Teresa…”
Andy clarifies how he said: “Who knows? Maybe it’ll be all fresh faces.”
He adds: “That got printed everywhere as if it was something I have not said on this broadcast eighty-five times… I was also not definitively saying it’s going to be all fresh faces.”
Fans are divided over a RHONJ reboot
Andy has essentially confirmed the current status of RHONJ is up in the air. But, that doesn’t stop fans from imagining how things are going to pan out.
Judging by fan responses to the idea of a reboot, people are totally divided.
Some take to the comments to say: “If Teresa goes, I go,” while others disagree, writing: “I will quit watching if Teresa is kept and any other full time cast member is let go.”
RHONJ’s season 14 finale episode airs on August 11 and viewers are preparing themselves for more disagreements and more tense family dynamics right up until the last episodes.
Taking to X (Twitter), one fan writes:
“The finale this Sunday will be the nail in the coffin as to how toxic the franchises have become. Reboot or find new cities with new women. We want to laugh and to be entertained. We all have enough problems in real life. We want escapism when we watch!”
It’s not only fans who are weighing in on the idea of a reboot. Speaking on Kelly Ripa’s Let’s Talk Off Camera podcast on July 31, Kelly said: “They couldn’t do a show without you.”
Teresa Giudice replied: “I mean, thankyou, I would hope not, Bravo, I hope you’re listening. Bravo, they have a decision they’re going to be making…”
