Since it has been awhile since the last time you looked at a Rams mock draft, probably 5-10 minutes at least, why not another one? This comes from The Athletic’s Dane Brugler, who posted a seven-round mock with less than 10 days to go until the big day.
Here is Brugler’s 11-player haul for the Los Angeles Rams:
1 (19). Jared Verse, Edge, Florida State
2 (52). Bo Nix, QB, Oregon
3 (83). Jermaine Burton, WR, Alabama
3 (99). Kris Abrams-Draine, CB, Missouri
5 (154). Leonard Taylor III, DT, Miami
5 (155). Cody Schrader, RB, Missouri
6 (196). Tanner McLachlan, TE, Arizona
6 (209). Kalen King, CB, Penn State
6 (213). Evan Williams, S, Oregon
6 (217). Nathan Thomas, OT, Louisiana
7 (254). Jaylan Ford, LB, Texas
Good enough?
How are Rams fans feeling about the positions and players addressed here for the Rams? The team would be adding Verse as an edge rusher to push Michael Hoecht for snaps across from Byron Young. That’s only if Verse makes it out of the top-18 picks, he might end up going much earlier than this and the same argument could be made for Bo Nix in round two. Though Nix could go in the third round, he could also go in the top-15 because it only takes one team. Still, Nix has been called a good fit for a McVay system.
Like many Alabama players, Jermaine Burton was once thought to have the tools of a future first round pick. That hasn’t worked out exactly, but Burton could still have a bright career in the NFL.
Kalen King was a prospect getting some first and second round buzz not that long ago and has seen his star fall quite far.
How do you grade this seven-round haul?
