There are a lot of big moves coming up in the league with the NFL draft a little over a week away. Big trades have been rumored while smaller deals are all but guaranteed during and shortly after the draft.
For the Cleveland Browns, six draft picks (after trading away OT Leroy Watson) could be used in a variety of ways. CB Greg Newsome II is not worried about trade rumors involving his name but still could be on the market.
Today came news that the Browns placed three players on the reserve/retired list including OT Justin Murray. Murray is the surprising name as the team officially placed LB Christian Kirksey and WR Rashard Higgins on the list after signing them to one-day deals.
Murray signed with Cleveland’s practice squad in November after playing four games for the Tennessee Titans in 2023. In 41 career games split between four teams, Murray played in 1,589 snaps on offense, mostly with the Arizona Cardinals, and 178 on special teams.
With Watson traded away and Murray retiring, GM Andrew Berry will be on the lookout for offensive line depth heading into training camp. Many believe that the Browns will pick an offensive tackle early in the upcoming draft.
