A competitor from Theresa Nist’s The Golden Bachelor season is revealing she “truly tried to tell” her that marrying Gerry Turner was a bad idea. Gerry got engaged to Theresa in the December 2023 finale and he declared that he’d fallen in love again for the first time since 1968. Gerry married Theresa within a month in a live ceremony. It was the quickest wedding in Bachelor history, and it ended three months later in April 2024 when Gerry and Theresa appeared in a joint interview on Good Morning America to share the news that they are getting divorced.
One of Theresa Nist’s co-stars on The Golden Bachelor tried to warn her against getting married to Gerry Turner.
April Kirkwood left a snotty message for Theresa on her latest Instagram update revealing that she had told her co-star that marrying Gerry was a bad idea.
April wrote, “I wish you the very best” in her comment before adding, “I truly tried to tell you, but this was your lesson to experience. Much love!” The post that April commented on was Theresa speaking out after she and Gerry announced their divorce on Friday, April 12, 2024.
April Kirkwood Apologizes For Dissing Theresa Nist
Theresa Accepted April’s Apology After Mean Comment
Comedian David Neal told her, “Nows not the time April, yikes.” April did not reply to David, but she decided to slam a different fan who had questioned April’s intentions.
“I want us all to learn from each other and be smart and empowered.”
April shared she cared for all the women in the world. She implied that Theresa had learned her “lesson” and needed to make an opportunity out of it. April wrote that while everyone gets their hearts broken, what they do with it is entirely up to them. “Lets rock this world Ladies. Therese [sic] can lead the way,” April added.
“I would like to publicly apologize for my error in judgment.”
Fortunately, April realized her mistake and used Theresa’s comment section to offer an apology to her and her fans. She said she didn’t mean any ill will with her comment. She reached out to “all women” to wish them peace and the power to be their best selves. “This was not the one for me,” she continued and offered much love and gratitude to those who showed her understanding. April’s apology didn’t go unnoticed.
Theresa told her, “I love you my friend. I’m so happy to call you that. You’re beautiful inside and out.”
While April may have not posted her comment with malice, there is a time and place for everything and Theresa’s post addressing her divorce wasn’t it. Theresa was assuring fans that sometimes things don’t go the way they are planned and that’s okay. She called her journey on The Golden Bachelor one of the most incredible experiences in her life, and April’s pointed message didn’t resonate with Theresa’s fans. April’s comment was condescending. It didn’t come from a place of love and concern for her friend. April wanted her “told you so” moment while Theresa needed a friend who’d understand.
