According to EW, Ana Navarro called The Golden Bachelor “manufactured and a complete crock“ and told her View co-hosts, “Today, I get to say, I told you so!”

Sunny Hostin couldn’t believe she fell for “this nonsense“ and admitted she was “upset” because she assumed Gerry and Theresa “knew better” since they are senior citizens and are far more mature than most of the contestants that join Bachelor Nation. Alyssa Farah Griffin, who is a huge Bachelor fan, claimed that viewers don’t tune in to watch people find love but rather to see “how the social experiment works.” Ana later claimed Gerry and Theresa were feigning their love for each other, joking, “I’ve had pimples that last longer than this marriage!”

Bachelor Nation doesn’t have a great track record. While some couples that got married are still together, those Bachelor alums are the exception. When The Golden Bachelor debuted, there was hope that this new spin-off would launch a new and brighter era for the franchise. However, it wasn’t meant to be. Gerry and Theresa’s divorce is very disappointing and comes as a huge shock after their season was widely praised. Hopefully, they are able to move past this traumatic moment in their lives and find solace in their respective families.
