With a rocky Season 14 of Real Housewives of New Jersey about to come to an end fans are questioning the future of the series. Teresa Giudice has been a staple cast member since the show premiered back in 2009. Many would argue that the OG has delivered some of the most memorable moments, including the infamous table flip scene from Season 1. But over the years, her yearning for the spotlight has grown a bit out of control. Recently, Tre made a bold statement that she isn’t going anywhere, leaving fans to wonder if there will be a reboot.
This season has shown all of the women, including Teresa, refusing to film with half their cast. The show has become divided, even leading to a separate reunion being filmed. But it’s nice to know that some things never change. One constant has always been Teresa and her uncanny ability to start drama amongst the group. Teresa is loud, unapologetic, and truly believes she does no wrong. Not only does Tre make for some great TV moments, but she is an icon on RHONJ. So, losing her would be devastating. But thankfully, we don’t think Teresa is going anywhere. Here’s why.
Teresa Giudice doubles down
The 52-year-old decided to set the record straight while on Kelly and Mark as a guest earlier this week. For weeks, there have been rumors that the show’s environment had turned toxic and that Bravo was thinking of shaking up the cast. But the mother of four doesn’t seem to be shaking in her boots like the rest of the cast. Teresa told both hosts that “maybe some of my cast members” were responsible for putting those rumors out into the Bravosphere. In a move of defiance, Teresa noted, I’m not leaving. I started the show. When Bravo wants me to leave, that’s when I’ll leave.”
Teresa Giudice has a storyline
Since Season 3, Teresa has had an ongoing feud with her brother, Joe Gorga, and sister-in-law, Melissa Gorga. For the last few seasons, Teresa has been making sure to keep her storyboard alive and well with the constant bickering. Between spreading rumors about Melissa being a stripper and Melissa cheating, Tre has been one busy woman. Even the fact that Teresa and her brother no longer talk has somehow turned into a storyline. Again, Teresa told Kelly and Mark that she didn’t see a way forward.
Teresa claimed that the family had sat down outside of the cameras to try and make peace. But nothing has worked. Now Teresa is a lot of things, but she knows what makes for good TV. And I am having a hard time believing she wouldn’t have tried to film this for the series. The OG doesn’t just have issues with her family. She also consistently fights with ongoing cast members, so there is never a dull moment with her.
Teresa Giudice is an open book
Love her or hate her, Teresa has always been an open book. Viewers have watched her give birth to her fourth daughter on the show, battle legal issues, go to jail, lose her parents, get divorced, and find love again. Not many other Real Housewives have been that open and genuine with their personal lives. Even though Teresa may start most of the drama, she has always invited Bravo cameras in to film her; the good, the bad, and the ugly. So, I would think it would be hard to find a decent replacement for her when push comes to shove.
Fans still love Teresa Giudice, mostly
For some reason, fans still love to watch Teresa. The mother of four is unpredictable and runs her mouth like no one can. And even though she can conveniently forget the truth to many of her claims, fans find her entertaining. If Bravo were to reboot the Real Housewives of New Jersey, they would need one building block of the original franchise to stay and lead the way. I believe that this light at the end of the tunnel would be Teresa. She has set the gold standard for the series and without her, I shudder to think of how the show would look.
But there is always a silver lining. Even if she does leave RHONJ, she’ll be sticking around on reality TV. She has secured a spot on Season 2 of House of Villains. And could even star on The Traitors in the future.
