The Arizona Cardinals have made a concerted effort to improve the offense around star quarterback Kyler Murray in recent years. They’ve added a rising star at tight end in Trey McBride. They drafted a potential All-Pro wide receiver, Marvin Harrison, Jr., in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Now, it’s time for them to go all-in and add a superstar to the offense. At least, that’s what one NFL analyst is proposing.
Bleacher Report NFL analyst Maurice Moton believes the Cardinals should explore a trade for disgruntled Dallas Cowboys’ wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. Lamb has been unhappy and seeking a contract extension all offseason, and things recently got more interesting after Cowboys owner Jerry Jones stated the team is in no hurry to get a deal done. To which Lamb replied simply with an “Lol” post on X (formerly Twitter).
With the situation between Lamb and the Cowboys seemingly deteriorating, now is the perfect time for the Cardinals to put together a trade offer for one of the best wide receivers in the game. Moton proposes the Cardinals offer their first and third-round picks in the 2025 NFL draft, along with wide receiver Michael Wilson in exchange for Lamb.
Adding Lamb to the Cardinals would instantly give them one of the better – and more versatile – passing attacks in the league. Lamb has been highly successful both outside and in the slot during his career with the Cowboys, which would give the Cardinals an opportunity to create matchup nightmares with him and McBride, who can also succeed outside or in the slot. Pair that up with an outside receiver like Harrison, Jr., and the Cardinals would instantly have all the makings of a potent passing attack.
As of now, there are no indications that the Cowboys are willing to trade Lamb. There’s also no indication that they would accept a trade package that only includes one first-round pick. But if the situation has gotten to the point that they’re willing to entertain the idea, it wouldn’t hurt for the Cardinals to put a trade package out there.
