Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Michael Wilson has expressed his astonishment at Marvin Harrison Jr.’s unique talent following Harrison’s selection as the No. 4 overall pick this year. He went so far as to say, “he’s a freak of nature.”
Marvin Harrison Jr., the son of the Hall of Fame receiver Marvin Harrison, emerged as a standout in a remarkably strong 2024 draft class for wide receivers. This class made history by having seven wide receivers picked in the first round, tying an NFL record.
“I’ve never been around a receiver that’s a bona fide first-rounder,” Wilson told Fox Sports. “So it’s been cool for me to be around him. Like, what does a fourth-overall pick as a receiver look like? And he looks like every part of that.
You know he’s a freak of nature. You know he can catch the football. You know he’s got good routes. He doesn’t have any weaknesses.”
At just 21 years old, Harrison Jr. comes into the NFL with immense expectations, built on an illustrious college career at Ohio State. He was a Heisman Trophy finalist last year and was a two-time unanimous All-American during his tenure with the Buckeyes.
Harrison Jr.’s transition to the NFL seems to be smooth, as he’s already turning heads with his exceptional performances during training camp.
Harrison is on track to potentially become the first Cardinals receiver to surpass 1,000 receiving yards in a season since DeAndre Hopkins did so in 2020.
Last year, tight end Trey McBride was the top receiver for Arizona, with 81 catches for 825 yards, while Marquise Brown, who has since moved to the Kansas City Chiefs, had the most touchdown receptions on the team with four.
