Penguins Foundation awards scholarships to 10 local high school students

Ten high school graduates have been awarded scholarships from the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation.

Each PPF scholarship is valued at $3,000 for the student’s first year of college.

An $2,000 is available for the second year of college if a 3.0 GPA is maintained and a minimum of 24 credit hours are earned.

The following students have received scholarships this year:

  • Ethan James Bell – Pittsburgh Science & Technology – University of Pittsburgh
  • Christian Cole – CAPA – Gannon University
  • Isabel Concepcion – Woodland Hills – University of Pittsburgh
  • Marjani Howze-Jetter – Pittsburgh Obama – Temple University
  • Elena McCutcheon – Allegheny Valley – Penn State University
  • Caroline McDevitt – Penn Hills – Penn State University @ Erie
  • Kendall McKelvey – Northgate – Oberlin College
  • Leah Spencer – Cornell – Staffordshire University @ UK
  • Isabella Ruston – Steel Valley – Penn State University
  • Ava Rose Waleko – Pittsburgh Science & Technology – American University @ DC

The Penguins Foundation has awarded nearly 175 scholarships over the past decade in partnership with UPMC.

This year, the Penguins Foundation supported six different scholarship programs, awarding $109,000 to 37 Pittsburgh-area students.
