Texans 3rd-Year Player Suffered a Minor Injury in their Preseason Game

The Houston Texans faced off against the Chicago Bears in the Hall of Fame Game at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, Ohio last Thursday. The Texans lost 17-21 as the game ended in the third quarter because of the weather. One intriguing storyline surrounding the game is the competition for the TE3 job.

Teagan Quitoriano got the start at tight end. Quitoriano caught two passes on two targets for 21 yards, including a nine-yard touchdown reception from Davis Mills on their opening drive. He played nine offensive snaps because of an injury.

Quitoriano exited the second quarter with an apparent lower-body injury. He was carted off the field and underwent tests to determine the severity of the injury. Thankfully, the injury isn’t long-term.Ezoic

According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2, he suffered a strained calf and will miss at least two weeks.

Who will replace him?

Cade Stover will fill in for the injured Quitoriano and receive playing time as their TE3. Stover played five seasons of college football for the Buckeyes, including the last three at tight end. The Texans drafted him in the 4th-round, reuniting him with C.J. Stroud.
