Yet, information about the DCU’s The Brave and the Bold movie remains scarce, and its star hasn’t been cast yet.
YouTube channel Smasher imagines what The Brave and the Bold would look like with Jensen Ackles in the lead role, using footage from movies and shows such as The Boys, Supernatural, The Batman, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and the Dark Knight trilogy to craft a concept teaser for the DCU’s Batman. Jensen Ackles Has Experience Playing Superheroes And Voicing Batman Himself
Jensen Ackles has been one of the most popular fan choices for Batman for years, even before Robert Pattinson was cast as Bruce Wayne for Matt Reeves’ The Batman. After a brief time playing Jason Teague in Smallville, Ackles gained massive popularity with his role as Dean Winchester in Supernatural. Supernatural allowed Jensen Ackles to showcase his dramatic and comedic skills, as well as his charisma, in a dark and fantastical setting, and it opened the doors for a wider variety of roles that have boosted his career.
The Brave and the Bold, the DC Universe’s Batman reboot, has seen many actors rumored for Bruce Wayne, and three of them have become popular picks.
After Supernatural, Jensen Ackles played a grittier and more serious character in The Boys. Ackles’ Soldier Boy stands out over the rest of Supes due to his restraint and discipline, at least compared to less moral characters like Homelander, A-Train, and the Deep. Soldier Boy is a stoic, charismatic, and disciplined hero, but he’s also exceedingly violent, arrogant, and vengeful — all traits that must be present in a live-action Batman portrayal, to higher and lesser degrees.
Jensen Ackles also has experience playing Batman in animation. Ackles first voiced Jason Todd in Batman: Under the Red Hood before moving on to the Dark Knight himself in Batman: The Long Halloween. Ackles reprised his voice role for Legion of Super-Heroes, Justice League: Warworld, and the Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths animated trilogy. The fact that Supergirl voice actor Meg Donnelly lost the DCU Supergirl role to Milly Alcock proves that voicing a character doesn’t guarantee a live-action role, but Ackles’ experience makes him a strong candidate for The Brave and the Bold nonetheless.
