Melissa Gorga is speaking out against her Real Housewives of New Jersey castmates, some of whom have been accused of working with bloggers to take down others.
Following recent claims against Teresa Giudice, 52, and Jennifer Aydin, 47, Melissa slammed her co-stars for their “scary” behavior. She also reacted to a potential full or partial reboot of the cast and admitted to being disappointed that the ladies were unable to work through their issues after filming season 14.
“There’s a lot going on on this show behind the scenes … with the bloggers and the Twitter stuff and like, how there was a person who was literally, basically hired by two of our cast members to wreck the rest of us [and] to wreck our businesses” she began on the July 25 episode of PodcastOne’s On Display with Melissa Gorga. “They’re literally calling people that might have been in our lives 20 years ago. That’s when we’re like, ‘You know what, we get paid but not that much.’”
According to Melissa, she feels her castmates are taking the show “too seriously.”
“If your need to win is that bad that you will literally ruin every single thing around you and take down every single thing around you for a reality show because your need to win is that strong, it gets a little scary at that point,” she noted.
Although there have been swirling rumors for months suggesting that some, or all, of the RHONJ cast could be replaced, Melissa said that she’s staying “very realistic” about her future on the show.
“Obviously, Andy is saying out loud and we now realize, there’s two sides here. Teresa and I, we do not even speak to each other. You cannot conduct a show where there’s two sides that won’t talk so things have to get changed,” Melissa stated. “[But] we don’t know what’s gonna happen.”
As she awaits a decision from Bravo, Melissa admitted it “does suck that [they] can’t be a cast that kind of fights to make up.”
“This show is about a group of girlfriends that kind of have problems, go back and forth, have real situations in their life that they’re sharing with their girlfriends, obviously be catty, funny women, affluent women, funny women with charismatic husbands. It’s so easy. I don’t know why it has to go to the dark, disgusting level,” she concluded.
