Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Apollo Nida was arrested for assault after his wife, Sherien Almufti, accused him of getting physical. And not in the Olivia Newton-John sense.

Per court documents, Apollo was charged with domestic violence and simple battery assault. He was taken to jail, where he posted a $3,000 bond and was released just hours later.

The altercation, which took place in March, apparently started with an argument about the couple “cheating on each other.” As emotions escalated, Sherien claims Apollo showed her a video of her kissing another man. Then she alleges her husband “pulled her by the hair and pushed by against a refrigerator.”

A “shuffle” ensued

When the fight grew into a “shuffle,” Sherien ran outside to call for help. But when she went back inside for her phone, Apollo had left.

After police officers arrived, Sherien showed them a surveillance video of the verbal argument, but the physical altercation was not recorded. Sherien declined medical attention, and the officers noted that she didn’t have any apparent marks or bruises from the fight.

When Apollo returned, he told the police that he had tried to take his wife’s phone away from her. When he attempted to take it, she rolled into a ball to protect her phone, but he was able to get it. He claimed that his wife went outside to call for help, and he followed to return her phone.

The fight brought them “closer”

Court documents obtained by In Touch show that Apollo was charged with one misdemeanor count of simple battery. A hearing took place in June. Court records didn’t indicate whether Apollo entered a plea or hired an attorney.

“It was a huge blowout between a married couple that has brought us much closer since then,” Sherien said. “We have worked through our issues and have been going to couples therapy. The end.” Glad to hear about the therapy part. Hope it helps.

Apollo was married to RHOA star Phaedra Parks from 2009 to 2017. They share two sons, Ayden and Dylan.
