DeAndre Hopkins may have hinted at a much longer future with Titans

The veteran sure sounds happy to be in Tennessee.

When DeAndre Hopkins chose to sign with the Tennessee Titans last offseason, some fans may have initially thought it was out of desperation.

Let’s be honest. The Titans weren’t exactly a team heading toward a Super Bowl, and there were reports that the interest in Hopkins wasn’t nearly as great as the veteran had hoped. Whether or not you believe any of those narratives, one thing is for certain: Hopkins loves Tennessee.

If you fast forward a year’s time, the former All Pro couldn’t be happier. In fact, he recently gave some very, very high praise to owner Amy Adams in reference to how thrilled he is to be in Tennessee.

“I love Tennessee. I love what Miss Amy’s doing. I think this is the happiest I’ve been in any organization,” Hopkins said.

When Hopkins was asked what it is about the organization that makes him so happy, he had a pretty straightforward answer:

“How Miss Amy runs things. It’s a great place to be. She’s putting pieces together, to try to win.”

The 2024 season can be the deciding factor for the future of DeAndre Hopkins in Tennessee

Hopkins is a pro’s pro. He knows all of the right things to say and do, and that’s what he’s doing, here. But, he isn’t wrong. He understands that this is a contract year for him, but the points he’s made about Adams are all valid.

Adams, Ran Carthon and the Titans have done a masterful job adding talent to the roster this offseason, and on both sides of the ball.

If Will Levis takes the necessary step forward in Year 2, the Titans could be on to something. And, if Levis takes a step forward, that would likely mean Hopkins has a strong season alongside Calvin Ridley and company.

If Hopkins is truly happy with the Titans and has plenty more football to offer, there could be an even longer future in store for the two sides. Hopkins has made a good amount of money during his NFL career, but has yet to win a Super Bowl. If he loves Tennessee, and they continue to improve and show they’re a competitive ball club, why wouldn’t he stick around longer?

After all, this isn’t the first time he’s talked about his love for the organization and even hinted at staying with the Titans for the rest of his career.

Here’s to hoping Levis, Hopkins and the rest of the Titans do, indeed, make a big jump in 2024.
