Kim Zolciak Says Kenya Moore’s Firing Was The ‘Best Thing To Happen’ To RHOA

Highlights

  • Kim Zolciak praised Bravo’s choice to fire Kenya Moore from RHOA, calling it a “great decision.”
  • Kim describes Kenya’s character as “heavily flawed” but supports Phaedra Parks potentially returning to the show.
  • Despite Kim’s harsh words, Kenya Moore has not responded publicly, showing maturity in the situation.

Former Real Housewives Of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak has weighed in on Bravo’s decision to fire RHOA’s Kenya Moore back in June.

Kim was in the process of promoting her latest reality TV venture, as one of the contestants on MTV’s reality reboot The Surreal Life: Villa Of Secrets.

In 2012, Kim made a mid-season exit from Real Housewives Of Atlanta during Season 5, so her time on the show briefly crossed over with Kenya’s tenure.

Unsurprisingly, this isn’t the first time a Real Housewives alumna has offered their opinion on the Kenya controversy.

Not long after Bravo and the RHOA star parted ways in June, former Real Housewives star Brandi Glanville tweeted a series of comments in support of Kenya — and accused Bravo of setting Real Housewives stars up for failure and potential public humiliation.

But Kim didn’t just laud Bravo’s decision to cut Kenya, she also had a lot to say about her view of her one-time RHOA co-star.

Kim Says Kenya’s ‘Character Is So Flawed’

Kim’s new project –The Surreal Life: Villa Of Secrets – is set to premiere on July 23, and her comments were made during an interview about the show.

In a clip shared on YouTube by Page Six, Kim’s remarks are clearly preceded by a question about Kenya leaving RHOA, but that portion wasn’t included.

It begins with Kim saying that Kenya’s firing is the “best thing to happen to that show”:

After Kim made the first statement, her interviewer cut in with: “Really?”

In response, Zolciak spoke at length about Kenya, and she didn’t mince words, calling Bravo’s move a “great decision”:

“Yeah, you know, you meet people, and you have relationships with people, and you get angry, or you get frustrated, but when you’re just … I think the core of who you are, or your character, is heavily flawed. I think [Bravo firing Kenya is] a great decision, to be honest.”

Page Six then asked Kim about rumors Phaedra Parks might return to Real Housewives Of Atlanta, and she began gushing about the other former Real Housewives star:

“I love Phaedra. That would be great! She’s so funny, I love her.

On July 23, Entertainment Tonight also spoke with Kim, ostensibly about The Surreal Life: Villa Of Secrets — and in that interview, it was her remarkably consistent commentary about Bravo firing Kenya Moore that took center stage.

Once again, she trashed Kenya, and later praised Phaedra, saying in part:

“Somebody actually updated me from the Housewives franchise on the situation with Kenya, and you know I’ve always thought people can, you know, get angry, say stuff, and be mean, but like when your character’s so flawed, I feel like Kenya’s character is so flawed that I think it’s a great decision to have her off the show.”

In response to a question about whether Kim would consider returning to RHOA, she said Bravo doesn’t “have enough money to ever bring [her] back on that show, because [her] sanity and [her] peace are worth way more.”

But then she added:

“Unless the whole cast, well, now that Kenya’s gone, I shouldn’t say it like that, but you know, I heard Phaedra [Parks] might be making her way back, and that would be an awesome choice.

“I might have to consider it with Phaedra because she’s so funny and all I do is laugh when I’m around her.”

Although Kim Zolciak went out of her way to shade Kenya Moore and generate headlines about it – twice – Kenya hasn’t taken the bait, and doesn’t seem to have acknowledged Kim’s comments at all.
