Joe Giudice is defending Luis Ruelas, the husband of his ex-wife Teresa Giudice.

Nearly two years after Luis, 50, and Teresa, 52, tied the knot in an over-the-top wedding at the Park Chateau Estate in New Jersey, Joe confirmed in an Instagram comment that Luis actually came to him — not just the Real Housewives of New Jersey star’s now-estranged brother, Joe Gorga — to request her hand in marriage.

Joe shared the news after being met with a comment from a fan on Instagram.

“When Louis tried being respectful and asked Joe Gorga for [Teresa’s] hand in marriage, I [wish] he would have asked Juicy Joe instead. Seeing how he’s the one who took care of her and her parents/children most [of] their lives,” the fan wrote, as seen in a screenshot shared by Joy Rosenberg on Instagram.

“He made a mistake in business but it could never touch the man he is. We love you Juicy Joe … wish you were back on our TV,” they added.

“He actually did,” Joe replied, not sharing any details about when or how Luis did so.

Although Luis hasn’t always had the best reputation on RHONJ, most recently being accused of pissing away Teresa’s money by their co-star, Margaret Josephs, 57, Teresa has insisted that he will be vindicated by the end of season 14. And in the comments section of the Instagram post with the screenshot of Joe’s revelation about Luis, fans applauded him as a stand-up guy.

“Louis is a very genuine guy, you can tell, the girls are a blend of Teresa and Joe and if they didn’t care for Louis or think he was good for their Mom they would say so so a beautiful blended family and Milania finally has her brothers she always wanted lol…love this family and I always have,” one person stated.

Another added, “Louis is an absolute gentleman and we love Joe Giudice.”

“Louis is a class act and so protective of Teresa and the girls and it’s clearly very genuine,” agreed a third. “Teresa has grown so much as a person and people who don’t see that are so bizarre to me… yes she plays dirty when she has to but this is definitely a more evolved version of her anyone who has watched the seasons over again can see it I think he’s great for her and the whole family.”
