Justin Brazeau was one of the many feel-good stories from the Boston Bruins’ Centennial season. After earning an NHL deal with the club in February, he took advantage of his golden opportunity and showed he could handle himself at the NHL level.

In 19 regular-season games for the Bruins last campaign, Brazeau provided decent secondary scoring, posting five goals, seven points, and a plus-4 rating. After suffering an injury in early April, Brazeau later returned during the playoffs, recording one goal, one assist, and a plus-1 rating.

Overall, Brazeau was solid when given a chance by the Bruins and has become a nice part of their forward group. However, it is fair to wonder if the New Liskeard, Ontario native can hit a new level next season as he continues to adjust to the sport’s most competitive league.

When looking at the Bruins’ current lineup, there is a chance that Brazeau could earn a more significant role next season. The Bruins notably lost plenty of depth on the wing this offseason, as players like Jake DeBrusk, Danton Heinen, Pat Maroon, and depth Oskar Steen have found new homes. James van Riemsdyk was also not brought back and remains a free agent.

With this, Brazeau is among the many right wingers who should be considered for a spot in the Bruins’ middle six next season. In addition, he should get more reps on the power play, as he has the potential to be an impactful net-front presence.

Ultimately, it is hard not to feel some excitement regarding Brazeau. He has the potential to be a solid middle-six forward, and it will be intriguing to see if he takes another step forward in his development next season.
