While Naughty Dog has plenty of its own official merchandise for The Last of Us, the handmade nature of the clicker sculpture makes it truly one of a kind, as opposed to something printed in a factory.

While both The Last of Us games offer a slew of enemy types to use as inspiration for fan art, the clicker is the most iconic by far, due to its unique design and abundance, being one of the most common enemy types in the series. The franchise is known for its gloomy, postapocalyptic visuals that combine nature and the leftovers of modern human civilization, and the clicker seems to pursue a similar idea with its design.

The wall-mounted bust created by a fan’s mother seems to capture this idea as well, as indicated by the images Reddit user poisonpith shared in the game’s official subreddit. It incorporates elements of nature and the visual and narrative themes The Last of Us is known for. Most of the space is taken up by the clicker’s face, which is snarling viciously in the direction of the viewer, showing off its teeth and impressive strands of drool in its mouth.

Fans in the comments were impressed, praising the original poster’s mother for her apparent artistic talent, stating that the sculpture managed to be scary and beautiful at the same time. Others inquired about whether their mother sells any of their work online since they were interested in owning a piece like this one, and though she reportedly does sell art locally, there does not seem to be a way to purchase any online.

It is unclear whether the user’s mother is also a fan of the franchise or if they were simply answering demand or working for commission, but according to a comment on the original post, she is a very experienced clay sculptor and artist. Still, it may not be surprising if she were a fan, considering The Last of Us television series on HBO helped to broaden the series’ audience even more.

In the midst of the HBO series’ popularity, developer Naughty Dog released a remake of the first game for PlayStation 5 and Steam, rebuilding the original from the ground up with major visual upgrades and other improvements. The decision to remake the decade-old game confused some fans, and when it finally released, The Last of Us Part 1 saw major issues with its PC port, which was notoriously buggy and had poor performance. However, it was improved through patches and the PS5 version launched smoothly.

Additionally, Naughty Dog went on to remaster The Last of Us Part 2, giving it a native PlayStation 5 port that came with some visual improvements and a brand-new mode. The franchise remains as popular as ever, with HBO’s The Last of Us series currently undergoing production on a second season.
