Andy Cohen has been getting a bit of backlash as of late. Recently, the Watch What Happens Live host joined in on the conspiracy train regarding Princess Kate Middleton before the world knew about her cancer diagnosis. Now, he’s taking his first time being back on the radio since the announcement to apologize. Plus, he reacts to legendary actress Bette Midler wanting to join RHOBH.
As practically everyone knows, there was some rumbling about Princess Kate after it was discovered that they were editing photos of her. Andy even tweeted in response to one of the pictures and said, “That ain’t Kate.” This caused many to call him a numpty, which is British slang for foolish.

Now, on his first day back to Radio Andy, he’s addressing the backlash and owning up to being a numpty. Andy said, “I just want to say I am heartbroken by the news about Princess Kate, and I think someone on Sky News called me a numpty during that whole conversation.”
Andy and his co-host agreed that he was a numpty for what he tweeted.
Andy continues, “And they were right, and of course, I wish I had kept my mouth shut. We are all praying for Princess Kate and King Charles. So, I just had to say that right at the beginning. It’s the first opportunity back in front of a live microphone.”
In lighter news, Andy also reacted to Bette tweeting that she wanted to join The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. For context, the legendary actress posted the following tweet.
“Is it too late for me to become a Real Housewife of Beverly Hills? I’ve never watched it, but I am in the mood to talk some shit. And to get paid for it? A dream! #RHOBH,” tweeted Bette over the weekend.

Of course, Andy was excited about the idea of her joining the show. He even recalled when he met her while he was working at 48 Hours, and they were doing a profile on her. However, despite thinking she’d be great on the show, he doesn’t think she would like the process.
Andy said, “My only concern, as I was really thinking this through, is I don’t know that she would love us just showing up with cameras. I think she likes fine setups and things, and I don’t know that she would love it, but she’d be amazing, and she’s Bette Midler.”
Andy went on to ponder how much it would cost to hire her for the show.
